Data - This research is based on analysis of informational videos. We define informational videos as those that are heavy in information content, and are primarily produced by B2B companies.
Tools - We used a SQLite database to store and manipulate the data. DB Browser came in handy as Excel couldn't handle such a large dataset. We used used Excel to analyze subsets of the data. We used Rawgraphs.io to visualize the data and create the scatterplot.
Process - Our approach was a mix of quantitative and qualitative. In addition to analyzing lots of data, we conducted a qualitative survey and interviews of B2B professionals. We were not able to find reliable data on certain topics (like the true increase in engagement that Closed Captioning leads to) but reported those trends because of their increasing popularity.
